July 2019 Event: Darwin Small Business Network
July 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm ACSTFree
The Darwin Small Business Network is back with our popular pizza, wine and networking events that bring together small businesses from across our region to grow, learn and celebrate together.
This month we’ll enjoy the usual pizza and wine with a fun, interactive “ice-breaker” where we learn a bit about each others’ businesses.
Then atfer a short break, we’ll return with a keynote presentation from our founder, Dante St James, on his 2016 Business Information Systems Masters Thesis, “The Application of Empathy in Business Sales & Marketing.”
This is not some staid university thesis presentation, it’s a whole new way of thinking about the processes of product development, marketing and selling of products and services in the digital world where small business owners, particularly, are finding that the manipulative, hard-sell tactics of the coaches and gurus either aren’t working anymore, or they simply don’t agree with them and are looking for something more.
Dante will give examples of empathic product lines in digital, services and actual product cases, show how an ad or even a social post can be transformed from a manipulative sales pitch to thinking, feeling and soulful invitation, and finally propose a set of strategies that any small business can apply that can change their business, their reputation and even whole business communities.
Dante is a Community Trainer with Facebook Australia & New Zealand, A Google Digital Springboard delivery partner, an ASBAS Digital Solutions advisor & presenter, Head of Digital at Treeti Business Consulting, and founder of both Clickstarter and the Darwin Small Business Network.
This is the first time that the results of his research from 2010-2016 and his conclusions and strategies will have been presented in public. Due to venue restrictions, this event is strictly limited to 30 people.
This event is sponsored by Clickstarter, Treeti Business Consulting & The Entrepreneurship Facilitators Program (an Australian Government Initiative.)
